Fall 2012
1. NEW SHERIFF IN TOWN

BMF SLAMING TWISTER – a Kansas Cowboy son out of J.R. Grand Slam daughter is one of our new herd sire. He is hard at work with a group of mature cows. First calves will arrive in June 2013.
2. ROAD TRIP IN JULY 2012
While spending a week in beautiful British Columbia and Alberta we had a chance to visit our good friends Jeremy and Joyce Farmer with their four children. They jump started their breeding program by purchasing six of our very best cows in 2011.

On our way home we stopped at the Huntley Ranch in Kooskia, Idaho.
“Our” FL Hannah is not only their lead cow in the pasture, she is also portrayed on Dee’s truck! The Farmers and Huntleys are another proof that Longhorn people are great people. Our cattle allow us to build friendships with folks all over the Unites States and now Canada. |
3. BRANDING AT THE FEY RANCH
We are always happy when all of our young stock is branded. Neither cattle nor people enjoy the task but it is a necessity in order to have registered cattle. While in the chute we also measure their horns. We can see our breeding progress in inches. Several of our heifers came in between 43 and 44+ inches at less than 18 months of age – I remember some our first cows never reach those numbers at maturity. That was only 10 years ago.
